UPDATES ON SASHA'S CURRENT DIET
Sasha's Current Diet Regime
Very sadly, Sasha released his spirit two days after beginning the below diet.
I will keep it here as a reminder of what worked and mistakes made along the way that may have cost Sasha his life.

Please note that I have been giving smaller doses of the Al(OH)3 since writing the below rant.
I will not remove the post, because my feelings have not changed and if I am proven wrong, will add that as well.
I still do not like giving it and will be checking with a holistic vet on July 27 to see if we can find an alternative therapy.

I am 100% certain the addition of aluminium hydroxide to Sasha's diet for the last two months has caused more harm than good.
It should not even be taken for more than 2 weeks, ESPECIALLY with renal diseases.
There are a host of side effects associated with it, including, but not limited to:
dehydration. loss of appetite and muscle weakness.

"...This product contains aluminum, which may react with other medications
(e.g., digoxin, iron, tetracycline antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics such as ciprofloxacin),
preventing them from being fully absorbed by your body..."

Sasha will eat NOTHING but Royal Canin Renal LP Modified dry food on his own and has thrived on this for 3 years.
It has only been since I started syringe feeding the Royal Canin canned food with the aluminum hydroxide
that Sasha has lost 2 pounds in two months and all values we hoped would go down have gone up and
everything we needed to go up has gone down.
It's been a complete and utter disaster.
Since cutting down the aluminum hydroxide two days ago, he is eating and drinking twice as much as before.
As of today, I am eliminating it completely from his diet and going back to two daily doses (1ml each) of the NutriVed B with iron.

Let it be noted that Sasha had his first Epogen treatment July 9, 2012 and has responded very well.
